SOCHAUX, 11TH OF JUNE 1968 - A film by Collectif de cinéastes et travailleurs de Sochaux (1970)
A free three day morning seminar led by Birgitte Sigmundstad.
Birgitte Sigmundstad lives in Oslo and works primarily with moving images. Her films have been screened in galleries and filmfestivals in Norway and abroad. She curates a special program for the Norwegian Short Film Festival and is a member of the program council at Movies on War (MOW). AMIFF is this year screening her film ‘The new Museum’ (2025)
Birgitte will be leading this years morning seminars. The seminar will be inspired by the programme and theme for this year’s festival 'VERDDET - a friend a helper'. At the seminars we will give special attention to how the short documentary and essay film has explored both cooperation and protest. With examples both older and more recent we´ll discuss and get inspired on how this way of thinking and making films can open for possibilities to tell stories and create engagement. The seminar has three sessions and we´ll discuss and invite in guests that has contributed to this year’s program. The participants are welcome to bring examples, wishes and current issues into the seminar room. The seminar is open for artists, filmmakers, curators, writers, students, and all others who work with moving images or are curious to hear about them.
There is a very limited amount of spaces on the course. When you have signed up for the course, please attend all three mornings.
