Eli Mai Huang Nesse

Eli Mai Huang Nesse is an artist who will join us at AMIFF and take part in a program called Weeds and Aliens, curated by Ida Lykken Ghosh.

Nesse’ practice is a careful exploration of mixed feelings. Trying to understand contradictions, lingering in ambivalence and making room for ambiguity, her works have delved into identity crises, the notions of hybridity and situations that make you laugh and cry at the same time. Primarily, she works with textile, storytelling and immersive video installations. Eli holds an MFA from Oslo Art Academy (2022) and a BFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (2018). Her work has been shown at Kunstnernes Hus, ABF-huset (SE), K4, Galleri Blunk and Isotop Project Space.
