SCOTT MACKENZIE

Scott MacKenzie is a film and media scholar at Queens University (Canada). One of his research fields is Arctic cinema and media. As a guest at AMIFF 2016, Scott will present some of the films from the Arctic screened at the festival, and participate in the two panel discussions.

 

ABOUT SCOTT MACKENZIE

Scott MacKenzie teaches Film and Media at Queen's University (Canada). His work of the Arctic includes Films on Ice: Cinemas of the Arctic (co-ed. w/ Anna Westerstahl Stenport, Traditions in World Cinema series, Edinburgh UP, 2015), Arctic Environmental Modernities: From the Age of Polar Exploration to the Era of the Anthropocene (co-ed. w/ Lill-Ann Korber and Anna Westerstahl Stenport, Palgrave Studies in World Environmental History series, Palgrave, 2016) and Arctic Cinemas and the Documentary Ethos (co-ed. w/ Lilya Kaganovsky and Anna Westerstahl Stenport, Indiana UP, forthcoming). He has also co-curated screenings of Arctic cinemas with Anna Stenport in North America and Europe.
